You and I

You and I

Glaring sunshine, airer, bed sheet,

we hide and seek at the concert of wind.

laundry pegs dancing in circles,

summer lawn fresh and soft.

Pine lined alley, hand in hand

a kiss caught by a passerby turned,

hurriedly contriving

a vocal debate.

excursion to shingled beach, sunset, oak hill, horse meadow,

in the wake of muddy job in rain.

cable ties, screws, drills and wooden fence.

Sofa, coffee, computers,

you compose a quote and I write a poem

Like railways join and depart,

we share the journey jolly delight.
